Double ovens in Egham

What will not come back

Enamel that has pitted, or a base scraped with a blade at some point, will come up clean but not new. Better said on the doorstep than at the end.

Student kitchens usually run one oven for a whole house with no extractor filter changes for a year, so carbonised build-up on the door glass, shelves and back panel is far heavier than in a family home.

Questions we get asked

Why is a double £110 and not twice £77?

Because the second cavity does not double the setup. The tank is already hot, the kit is already in your kitchen and the van makes one journey instead of two. You pay for the extra work, not a second call-out. Three hours is normal on a double where the grill cavity has had heavy use.

The top oven is filthy and the bottom one is barely used. Can I pay for one?

Yes. Book it as a single at £77 and we clean the one cavity. Most people end up having both done once we are there, because the difference is £33 and the cleaner is already in the kitchen with everything out. Say which cavity when you book so we allow the right time.

Will the racks go back where they came from?

Yes. Runners, racks, wire shelves, grill pan and handle all come out together and go back the way they came out. On a cooker with an unusual shelf arrangement we look before we strip it. It sounds too obvious to mention. It is also the thing people ring other firms about afterwards.

Will the marks on the back panel come off?

The brown film will. Discoloration in the enamel underneath will not, because that is heat staining rather than grease sitting on top of it. On a fan oven the back panel usually unbolts, so the fan cover gets done as well. Once it is stripped we will show you where the line between the two falls.
