Pooley Green is the residential stretch north-east of Egham station, in TW20. Egham station sits on the Waterloo to Reading line and plenty of people here commute on it, so evening and weekend slots are useful. They cost the same as a weekday.
Houses on Pooley Green Road and nearby
Much of the housing is interwar and post-war semis, like those round Vicarage Road and Grange Road. Pooley Green also flooded straight off the Thames in 2014, and a lot of ground floors were refitted, so a 1930s semi here may well have a kitchen fitted after the flood. Newer ovens in those kitchens usually have door glass that lifts out, which helps.
An evening slot, step by step
- You get home from the station. We can start a single as late as six and still be done by eight.
- We look at the oven together and confirm the price.
- Racks go to soak. The cavity is cleaned while you get on with the evening in another room.
- Glass, seal, racks back.
- The sheets come up, the worktop gets a wipe, and you check the oven with us. It is ready for dinner the same night.

Getting the racks out
In a semi the kitchen is often at the back. A side gate is handy when the team has brought a heated tank and found a space close by, because the racks can go out to it that way; with no tank, or nowhere to stop, the racks stay in the kitchen to soak. If they do go through the house, a sheet goes down along the hall and comes up again at the end. Saturday and Sunday slots run from 8am to 7pm, same as the rest of the week, and cost no more.

With Egham’s hard water, expect some scale on the door glass, which we treat after the grease. The descaler goes on second and the glass is dried with a clean cloth so it does not streak.
